Dr. Ali Qaradaghi, General Secretary of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, embarked on a scientific visit and dawah (invitation to Islam) mission, traveling from Doha to Tashkent, arriving on Thursday at 2 AM.
He received a very warm welcome there from the Head of Religious Affairs and the Special Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan.
This visit falls within the framework of strengthening religious and cultural ties between Muslim peoples and exchanging experiences and knowledge in the scientific and dawah fields.
While in Tashkent, Dr. Ali Qaradaghi led the Friday prayer at the Grand Mosque of Tashkent, where he prayed for the worshippers, asking God to grant salvation and victory to Muslims around the world, especially in countries currently experiencing war and conflict.
He also visited "Bayt al-Barakah," where the Holy Quran from the Ottoman era is preserved, and recited several verses from the Holy Quran there.
During his visit, Dr. Ali Qaradaghi was presented with a letter of gratitude from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the President's Advisor for Religious Affairs, in appreciation of his visit to the region. In return, the Secretary-General presented the shield of the International Union of Muslim Scholars as a gift to the President of Uzbekistan (Note: The original text stated "President of Azerbaijan" here, which seems to be a typo given the context of the visit to Uzbekistan), in recognition of his efforts to rebuild mosques and preserve the heritage of scholars in his country.
Dr. Ali Qaradaghi's visit to Tashkent is a significant step towards strengthening religious and cultural ties between Muslims, just as it is a major step towards building bridges of connection and understanding between peoples and nations and exchanging experiences and knowledge in the fields of religion and dawah. It is hoped that this visit will lead to increased support and mutual understanding and contribute to achieving peace and stability in the region.
