Prof. Dr. Ali Qaradaghi Emphasizes the Role of Islamic Values in Consolidating Social Peace at "Green Tent" Forum

In a Ramadan atmosphere filled with awareness and responsibility, Professor Dr. Ali Muhyiddin Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars and Head of the Humanitarian League Organization, participated in the first session of the twentieth edition of the "Green Tent" program. During this session, discussions revolved around the role of Islamic values in establishing social peace and enhancing the stability of societies.

In his speech, Dr. Qaradaghi reiterated that Islam has established a comprehensive ethical system that elevates the dignity of the human being and makes social security a natural outcome of conscious faith and disciplined conduct.

He clarified that security, in the Islamic vision, is a comprehensive value that begins with the security of the individual's inner self; the security of the heart, mind, and conscience. It then extends to the security of society through justice, safeguarding rights, equality of opportunities, and caring for the vulnerable. Therefore, a society where dignities are protected, values are respected, and justice is the standard possesses the foundations for stability and advancement.

Regarding the objectives of Sharia, Dr. Qaradaghi stated that these objectives came to preserve the five necessities: religion, life, intellect, wealth, and progeny. These, in essence, are the foundations for building a secure and cohesive society. For instance, Zakat, endowments (Waqf), and social solidarity are practical tools for addressing poverty and deprivation, just as consolidating a culture of forgiveness and pardon contributes to reducing manifestations of violence and tension within societies.

He also stressed the importance of dialogue and respect for cultural and intellectual diversity, as pluralism is a cosmic norm, and its conscious and just management is a collective responsibility. He pointed out that building conscious individuals is the true gateway to any sustainable developmental project, and this requires integration among education, media, and sound religious discourse.

At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Qaradaghi reaffirmed that establishing a system of ethical values is the fundamental pillar for enhancing social peace, and that a nation that manages its differences well within a framework of justice and mercy is capable of creating a more stable and prosperous future.
