Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi provides an analysis of the Hamas resistance movement's treatment of captives, publishing it on his personal page under the title "(Why didn't Hamas kill the captives?)" In one of his explanations, he states: "The resistance movement believes they are fighting for freedom, justice, and the liberation of their land from the occupier. They have no intention or desire to kill or harm the captives... The resistance movement adheres to a set of rules and laws that focus on Islam and international laws, treating captives humanely and respecting human rights."

He further states:

"The resistance fighters believe that the only successful solution is to reach a political solution that aligns with justice and human rights. This is not achieved by killing captives, but rather by the occupier's withdrawal."
