Since the onset of the Israeli attacks and atrocities against Gaza, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, has consistently monitored the situation and made tireless efforts to raise awareness among Muslim nations about the necessity of unity and mutual support – both material and moral – during these difficult times.
On his personal Twitter account, Dr. Al-Qaradaghi explicitly expressed the support of the Kurdish and Iraqi people for Gaza and the Muslims of Palestine. He wrote: "The descendants of Salahuddin stand with Gaza, steadfast on their pledge and not abandoning the path of human dignity ﷺ."
He further emphasized the unity and solidarity of the Iraqi people, stating: "The people of Iraq, with their Arabs, Kurds, and all components, stand with the great causes of the people, and this is no surprise, for Salahaddin liberated Al-Quds from there... The Iraqi people are renowned for their multi-ethnicity and diversity, yet they possess a single spirit and a strong national unity that brings together all races and components, supporting Gaza."
These statements by Dr. Al-Qaradaghi come at a time when the humanitarian situation in Gaza is rapidly deteriorating and calls for international aid and support are increasing.
