Dr. Ali Qaradaghi Delivers a Speech at the Beloved Prophet's (PBUH) Encounter Forum

On Saturday, October 21, 2023, Professor Dr. Ali Qaradaghi, Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, participated with a recorded speech in the "Beloved Prophet's (PBUH) Encounter" forum. The event was organized by the Foresight Organization at the Titanic Hall in Sulaymaniyah city. The forum focused on the role of the Prophet (PBUH) in the process of education and teaching. In addition to Ustadh Salahaddin Muhammad Bahaaddin (Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union), a large number of professors from Islamic Studies and Islamic Research colleges at the Universities of Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Garmian, and other universities in the Kurdistan Region attended the encounter.

In his speech, Professor Dr. Ali Qaradaghi highlighted the importance of the teaching methodology in the Quran and the biography of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He interpreted the verse that was part of the forum's motto: "And He teaches them the Book and Wisdom" (وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ). He explained that the learning process begins with reading (Iqra'), but with two conditions mentioned in subsequent verses: "In the name of your Lord who created" (بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ) and "And your Lord is the Most Generous" (وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ). This means that the process should be in the name of the Lord, and human dignity and respect must be preserved within it. It is worth mentioning that a panel discussion was also held during the forum for several specialized professors in Islamic sciences who taught at the Universities of Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, and Akre.
