In a special ceremony attended by a large number of writers, representatives of environmental organizations, and political and scientific figures from the Kurdistan Region, as well as the author himself, the launch and signing of the book "The Environment is Our Mother" was held.

The book is authored by Dr. Ali Qaradaghi and translated by Mr. Muhammad Muhammad Mirza. It is part of the "Fiqh of Balance" (Fiqh al-Mizan) book series, which Prof. Dr. Ali Qaradaghi has been writing for a long time. Several volumes of this series have been published so far, and some have been translated into the beautiful Kurdish language.

The book "The Environment is Our Mother" is one of the volumes in the series that Prof. Dr. Ali Qaradaghi has authored during his years of research on 'Fiqh of Balance.' He has written this book based on the principles of 'Fiqh of Balance,' general development, and economic growth, in addition to incorporating some global and regional guidelines on environmental issues.

The author discusses the environment from an Islamic perspective, based on its ethical principles and general objectives (Maqasid), and their role in achieving the desired environmental balance.

In the book's preface, the author introduces 'Fiqh of Balance' and its key elements in environmental protection. He then divides the book into seven main chapters and a conclusion.

• In the first chapter, he discusses the nature of the environment, with its foundational principles in the Quran, the Sunnah, and universal principles.

• In the second chapter, he focuses on the relationship between the objectives of Sharia (Maqasid) and the environment, and how to achieve the desired environmental balance from this perspective.

• In the third chapter, the author explains to the reader how Islam, through its principles and rules, encourages the protection and preservation of the environment.

• The fourth chapter deals with Islam's emphasis on plants, citing several Quranic verses and Hadiths as examples of this importance.

• The fifth chapter is dedicated to the scientific miracles found in plants.

• Then, in the sixth chapter, he asserts that achieving environmental balance is the only solution to the dangers of environmental degradation. In this same chapter, he points to some of the causes of environmental degradation.

• In the seventh and final chapter, the author dedicates the topics to the circular economy and its relationship with the environment, starting with an introduction and definition of the circular economy and presenting its history and objectives.

Finally, Dr. Ali has included Qatar's environmental protection law as an appendix to his topics, serving as a prime example of an organized law to be emulated.

It is worth noting that during the ceremony, attendees presented their suggestions and comments on the book and environmental issues. Also, at the end of the event, the author signed copies of the book for the attendees, and all participating organizations and figures were gifted a copy of the book.
