Led by Al-Qaradaghi, the "Gaza: An Islamic and Humanitarian Responsibility" Global Conference Begins

ISTANBUL – The proceedings of the international scholars' conference, titled "Gaza: An Islamic and Humanitarian Responsibility," commenced this morning. The opening session featured the senior leadership of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) on the main stage, represented by its President and the conference chairman, Professor Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi; his Vice President, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hassan Ould Al-Daddou; the Secretary-General, Dr. Ali Muhammad Al-Sallabi; and the head of the Jerusalem and Palestine Committee, Dr. Marwan Abu Ras.

Also participating in the inaugural session were leaders from the Turkish "Waqf of Islamic Scholars" foundation and the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Dr. Ali Erbaş.

In their speeches, all speakers unanimously emphasized the profound importance of this conference from several perspectives, most notably its sensitive timing and the high caliber of its attendees. They also highlighted the anticipated resolutions that will emerge from it, which will be diligently monitored by a special committee established for this purpose.

It was noted that the practical ideas and programs resulting from 18 specialized workshops will address the various pathways to support our people in Gaza and our Palestinian cause.

Based on these facts, we call upon the masses of our Islamic Ummah to engage seriously with this conference and its outcomes, in fulfillment of their religious and humanitarian duty, and in support of our steadfast brothers and sisters in Gaza.
