At Van University, Prof. Dr. Ali al-Qaradaghi Delivers a Key Scientific Lecture on "Fiqh of Balance"

VAN – Continuing his academic visit to the city of Van, Turkey, His Eminence Professor Dr. Ali al-Qaradaghi, Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, delivered a valuable scientific lecture on Wednesday morning titled "Fiqh of Balance" (Fiqh al-Mizan) at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University.

The lecture, held on the sidelines of a conference at the Faculty of Theology (İlahiyat), was attended by senior academic figures. Attendees included Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Şevli, the University President; Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Candan, the Dean of the Faculty; and Dr. Fayez Aziz Ali, President of the Iraqi Students' Union in Turkey, along with a distinguished group of university professors and a large crowd of male and female students.

The lecture was met with widespread approval and appreciation from all attendees, who expressed their delight at being present for the scholarly event and showed great admiration for the lecture's impactful style and profound content.

"Fiqh of Balance": A Quarter-Century Intellectual Project

It is noteworthy that "Fiqh of Balance" is the title of the latest intellectual and scholarly work by His Eminence Dr. al-Qaradaghi, a project he has spent over a quarter of a century writing and preparing.

The primary goal of this book is to assist students and researchers in achieving a balanced ijtihad (scholarly reasoning), a balanced understanding, a balanced ruling, and a balanced approach when dealing with sacred texts and the realities of life.

As another key activity during his visit to Van, Prof. Dr. Ali Qaradaghi held a comprehensive meeting with all the muftis, scholars, imams (prayer leaders), and preachers from across the province, including those from the main city, surrounding towns, and villages.

During the gathering, Dr. Ali Qaradaghi delivered a speech in which he discussed the importance of the work, duties, and pivotal role of religious scholars in society.
