Treason and Takfir: Who is Behind the Attacks?
By: Dr. Abdullatif Yasin
I present this topic in a series of points to ensure the reader's chain of thought remains clear and the objectives are well-defined:
Timing and Deliberation: I took my time in writing this piece to avoid haste; sensitive issues require deep reflection rather than emotional reactions.
Ideological Fragmentation: We must admit the bitter truth: Kurdish society is divided into different ideological groups, which has led blind loyalty to replace the pursuit of truth.
Religious Coexistence: Over the past century, Kurds have had no issues with religious coexistence. This is a historical strength of ours that we must not allow to be destroyed.
The Crisis of Political Coexistence: Unfortunately, we lack the capacity for political coexistence, unless a major material interest (such as posts or money) brings us together. This indicates that national principles are weak for some.
A History of Violence: The history of bloodshed that started in the mountains and reached the cities is evidence of this mindset. We were on the verge of stripping the cities of their humanity, just as happened in the mountains, had it not been for Western intervention.
The War of Erasure: Ideological warfare and the refusal to acknowledge the "other" are prominent features of our past and present. Instead of dialogue, people resort to breaking one another.
Identity of the Attackers: Those managing this media war of "Takfir" (excommunication) and "Taxwin" (accusing of treason) can be summarized as:
A group harboring old grudges against religion.
A group whose livelihood depends on creating fitna (strife) and spreading accusations.
A group involved out of ignorance.
A group of "commissioned agents" assigned to perform this task.
The Absence of Reading: I believe most of the attackers did not even read the Doctor's original piece; they attacked based solely on his name.
An Old Subject with New Goals: They failed to realize that this topic is not new; it is an old issue that has been "reheated" solely for political agendas.
Simplicity in Judgment: It has become clear how easily people pass judgment and accuse others of treason or takfir without evidence—the most dangerous type of decision-making.
The Role of the West and Tom Barrack: In this equation, "Tom Barrack" appears as the architect and godfather. The question here is: If you are so patriotic, why do you not dare to protest against US and European policies or demonstrate in front of their embassies?
A Losing Weapon: Resorting to "Taxwin" and "Takfir" is a sign of intellectual bankruptcy and powerlessness. Those with logical arguments and evidence do not need personal attacks. This mindset "smells of a rotting carcass" and destroys society.
Merchants of Philosophy: The "word-sellers" who haven't even listened to what Tom Barrack or Trump said are doing this only for money. One day they sell philosophy, and the next they auction it off. For them, evidence and figures are meaningless because they profit from chaos and fratricide.
A History of Service: While the Doctor has been defending the Kurdish entity since the 1980s, his opponents were busy undermining it. Conscience demands acknowledging that he cared for thousands of children of martyred Peshmerga during the most difficult days.
Conclusion: Judging a personality like Dr. Ali does not require complex philosophy; it only requires a bit of "conscience" to see the facts.
Tom Barrack’s Frankness and the Silence of Critics: What Tom Barrack says very explicitly, our local critics remain silent about, only repeating what feeds their interests. I believe the current US leadership is unlike previous ones; they speak very honestly and leave no room for interpretation. Why do you refuse to understand what is happening?
Differences in Grievance: I have no grievance against ordinary people, nor against the leftists (as their stance is clear), but my grievance is with those who should have been more precise.
The Responsibility of Intellectuals: To the people of insight and the educated: How did you fall into this trap? Do you not fear God or your own conscience? Your words, threats, and the fueling of fitna could lead to bloodshed and undermine the stability and security of this country.
Interpretation: The educated should be a barrier against strife, not the fuel that burns social peace.
The Wisdom of Politicians vs. Intellectuals: I have often said that in our countries, politicians are often wiser, more rational, more farsighted, and even more conscientious than "intellectuals" and some so-called mullahs. The politician at least sees a larger interest, while some intellectuals write only to destroy.
Character Assassination: It is strange how the Kurd is so bold in assassinating his own history and personalities; instead of being proud of them, he seeks to break them.
The Era of Western Transparency: I repeat, the West is now speaking very frankly and no longer leaves the truth to be found only in memoirs. Trump and Tom Barrack were very direct, so I don't understand the point of all this media posturing. When the original source speaks for itself, there is no need for false interpretations.
The Clean History of Islamists: The role of Islamists in the Kurdish cause and Kurdish rights is a clean, clear, and pure history that needs no posturing; their struggle for land and identity is undeniable.
The Disease of "Treason" in the Region: This culture of "Taxwin" has become a great curse. In our region, throwing accusations is like a child's game:
During government formation, parties call each other "land-sellers."
When going to Baghdad, we hear the same accusations.
This pattern continues from the post-referendum events to the struggles in the mountains and cities. Anyone not aligned with their interests becomes a "traitor." For them, "Kurdishness" is valid only when their interests align with Baghdad; otherwise, it is treason! This narrowing of Kurdish identity is exactly what is happening with "HSD" (SDF).
Silence Toward the Main Actors: The irony is that while "the West" (referring to the Kurdish administration in Rojava) has not even been allowed to speak yet, people here have already decided who is a traitor and who is a patriot!
Posturing and Unanswered Questions: This posturing has become tasteless. Kurdistan has a "Ministry of Peshmerga"—why doesn't it make the decision? All those former commanders now benefiting from the ruling parties, why don't they quietly examine their superiors? If they have a logical excuse, why are you posturing and fanning the flames of fitna?
Facing the Facts: I have a few questions:
If America sold out the Kurds and committed treason, why don't secular writers and some religious figures present the evidence and protest against America?
Why was there no gathering against the arrival of "Tom Barrack"?
Why doesn't the HSD leadership officially state that America betrayed them?
Was the Kurdish withdrawal from Aleppo based on an agreement or a defeat? Why is there no official response to Tom Barrack?
Hiding the Truth: Our own leadership has hidden hundreds of things from us that we still don't talk about. How can we so easily believe every word from the HSD leadership without scrutiny?
ISIS and Historical Deception: It is very strange; Trump officially stated that (Hillary Clinton) during the Obama era had a hand in creating ISIS, yet our local "friends" still blame their own intellectual failures on Muslims and Islam.
The Manifesto of Curses:
Curse those who posture using the blood of the people.
Curse those who threw the body of a young girl from a rooftop.
Curse those who know the truth but spread lies.
Curse those who cut the hair of girls.
Curse those who interpret the verses of God according to their own whims.
Curse those who lie to themselves.
Curse those who evict innocent families and children from their homes in the cold.
Curse those who posture using the blood of the Kurds in Rojava.
Curse those who betray the trust they were given.
