Second: The Many Glad Tidings on the Day of Judgment for the Believer Who Spends in Charity

Indeed, ranks are elevated in proportion to one's charity. Allah Almighty, in Surah Al-Ma'arij, made fulfilling the "specified right" from one's wealth a means of salvation from Hellfire. In Surah Adh-Dhariyat, He made fulfilling the "absolute right"—that which is beyond zakat—a means of attaining Paradise and its sweet springs. And in Surah Al-Mu'minun, He made the act of giving zakat a path to reaching the highest level of Paradise (Firdaws).

  1. It earns the pleasure of Allah Almighty and extinguishes His wrath.

  2. It erases sins, misdeeds, and wrongdoings.

  3. Zakat and charity are proof (burhan) of the giver's sincerity with their Lord.

  4. It shields the giver from the Hellfire.

  5. Charity will be the giver's shade on the Day of Judgment, a day when there is no shade but His.

  6. The one who gives zakat and charity will be under the shade of their own charity.

  7. The giver will be invited to enter Paradise through the Gate of Charity (Bab al-Sadaqa).

  8. The reward for good deeds is multiplied, potentially up to seven hundred times or even more.

  9. On the Day of Judgment, the giver will have no fear, nor shall they grieve, as Allah Almighty says: "Those who spend their wealth by night and day, secretly and openly, will have their reward with their Lord. And they will have no fear, nor will they grieve." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 274).
