Statement of Gratitude and Reaffirmation of Stance

On my behalf and on behalf of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, I extend my sincerest appreciation and gratitude to those overseeing the international humanitarian initiative "flotilla," which set sail from European and Maghrebi ports, carrying delegations from forty-four countries, including parliamentarians, activists, and doctors, united in a humanitarian and ethical message to break the unjust siege on our people in Gaza.

We, in the International Union of Muslim Scholars, consider this initiative a global message testifying to the living conscience of humanity, and a voice declaring to the world that Gaza is not alone, and that the will of free peoples is capable of breaking shackles and confronting oppression, no matter how long it takes.

We also reaffirm that we, in the Union, will not fall short in fulfilling our duty towards our Islamic nation and its just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian issue. We will remain a pillar and supporter of all initiatives that raise the voice of truth and defend human dignity.

We call upon all Islamic peoples and free individuals worldwide to continue their support through all legitimate means, and to stand united in solidarity with Gaza and its besieged people, until this tyrannical siege is lifted and justice is achieved.
