On Friday, hundreds of thousands of people in Sulaymaniyah celebrated the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in squares and public places. This was a sweet and positive call, as everyone united in their love for the Prophet, following his teachings, and supporting his message.
With immense pride, they expressed and reiterated their deep and strong love for the Prophet (peace be upon him). They flocked to the squares and fields to participate in the celebration and enjoy its activities. Hundreds of families and individuals from various areas of Sulaymaniyah and its surroundings set off to attend this important occasion. The squares were adorned with beautiful flags and exquisite decorations. Chairs and reception gates were arranged for guests, and preparations were made.
The celebration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a lecture on the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The attendees listened attentively, were moved by the beautiful words, and benefited from the lessons and wisdom presented in the lecture.
This annual celebration reflects the spirit of love and unity in the city of Sulaymaniyah. It is considered a rare occasion where diverse individuals and communities become acquainted with each other and strengthen their social bonds.
Through this celebration, the residents of Sulaymaniyah affirm that love for the Prophet (peace be upon him) knows no geographical boundaries or cultural backgrounds. Rather, it is a universal value that connects Muslims, uniting them on one word and one goal: adherence to his Sunnah, guidance, and teachings.
This unique occasion strengthens the unity and closeness of the Sulaymaniyah community and helps build bridges of understanding and respect among its individuals. It also serves as evidence of their ability to coexist and tolerate each other, despite the multicultural and multi-religious nature of the city.
