IUMS Statement Regarding the Burning of the Holy Quran

"It is In No Way Permissible to Remain Silent on the Continuous Insults Directed at Islam and Muslims"

A Call from the International Union of Muslim Scholars to Islamic States

The Union calls on Islamic states to take serious, practical measures against any state that disrespects our sacred sanctities, foremost among them the Holy Quran and our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Our faith is incomplete until our love for the Prophet (PBUH) is greater than our love for ourselves, our families, our wealth, and our children. The Union calls on them not to limit themselves to mere expressions of condemnation and displeasure, but to prove their stance through concrete actions and practical conduct. For if we do not move and take a serious stand for the greatness of our Holy Quran and our noble Prophet (PBUH), then for what else shall we move and take a stand?

Simultaneously, the Union calls on the Islamic Ummah to be united and to defend our sanctities with all legitimate means, because in reality, these insults and acts of disrespect are directed at our entire Islamic Ummah.

At the same time, the Union directs a letter of warning to those states and parties that disrespect the sanctities of our Ummah, whose follower's number two billion people: these violations constitute real terrorism. They generate hatred, animosity, extremism, and terrorism, while also threatening international peace by hurting the sentiments of two billion Muslims.

Therefore, the Union calls on the United Nations to address this issue before it escalates, by convening an urgent, extraordinary session.

It also calls on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold an urgent and extraordinary meeting at the level of heads of state or ministers to discuss the repercussions of these repeated violations.

Therefore, it is in no way permissible to remain silent on these continuous insults that, for years, have been directed solely at Islam and Muslims.

(And Allah is predominant over His affair, but most of the people do not know.) Yusuf: 21
