A message from Dr. Ali Qaradaghi regarding assisting the citizens of Duhok Governorate

Mar 20 2024

Following the recent wave of heavy rainfall across the Kurdistan Region, damaging floods have affected several cities today, including Duhok and Erbil. The floods in Duhok have caused significant material damage, leaving many people homeless. In response, Professor Dr. Ali Qaradaghi, feeling the responsibility to address the needs of the people in the area, issued a message to appeal for help and emphasize the importance of providing assistance. Here is the text of his message:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Coming to the aid of your brothers and sisters in Duhok province is a religious, humanitarian, and national duty.

I call upon the generous citizens of Kurdistan, who are always at the forefront of providing aid, charity, and humanitarian work, to once again extend their help. The people of Duhok province, due to the natural disaster of floods, have lost two citizens as martyrs, and more than 300 homes have been left destitute and homeless. They are in need of our assistance.

Starting today, for a period of 7 days, I task the Humanitarian League organization with collecting aid and assistance, with the support of Almighty Allah and the charitable citizens of the Kurdistan Region, both from within and outside Kurdistan.

Dr. Ali Qaradaghi
Head of the Humanitarian League Organization
